I discovered many years ago that writing feeds my compulsion to overshare and find meaning in all the crazy things that happen to us. All my stories are inspired by those moments. I write down all the details and attempt to find the story among all the words. All the best stories never leave us. We may not remember the exact details, but remember how it made us feel.

I’ve written a series of essays about raising my daughter who was born with a severe congenital heart defect. I am currently working on turning all those essays into a memoir entitled Today I Pretend.

I live with my husband and daughter in the Los Angeles.
